Studio IO is located just off London Road, down a little alley. From the outside the yoga studio looks like a small garden shed (but this adds to the appeal) but when you go inside it is a tranquil space, with white walls, wooden floors and a few sky lights perfect for the sun salutations hastauttanasana.

Shay is a 500H teacher hailing from the West Coast of Canada. She has a background in competitive dance, and started her yoga journey as a compliment to her dance training. Shay encourages her students to challenge themselves with with an open mind and compassion to their own limits. She believes that a good sense of fun does wonders on the mat and in life.
Yoga with Jen
Yoga with Jen is a high energy classes aim to give an all body workout, stretching and toning the body whilst calming the mind and leaving you feeling invigorates. Expect to leave the classes with a big (possibly sweaty) smile on your face! Jen’s classes are accessible to anyone; it does not matter how flexible you are or whether you can touch your toes, every pose can be adapted.

This eyes closed class allow you to look inside rather than being distracted by the external world. Holding the asanas for a longer period of time allows the long-term stored emotions to be released from the connective tissue. Combining knowledge about the chakras (energetic centres in our body with specific characteristics), mindfulness (bringing the mind constantly to here and now) and the therapeutic and healing benefits of each technique, creates a unique and powerful practice for beginners and experienced yogis alike.
Morning Yoga with Effie Love
This yoga class is built for all the office workers, shopkeepers and hospitality workers in Brighton. It's aimed to help you with your lower back pain, shoulder and neck pain and general discomfort caused by sitting in a chair, waiting on busy tables or stacking shelves all day. Early Morning Yoga will also help you achieve better focus and mindfulness throughout your day.
Upstairs at Six is above a very trendy vegetarian/vegan restaurant bar, where in between classes you can grab a turmeric tea. The studio space is light and breezy with a beautiful scent, which allows you to insistently become calm and relaxed. All the classes are delivered by freelance teachers, all highly trained.

With a strong focus on listening to the wisdom of the body and breath, Sher guides the class so that safe exploration, release, awareness and nourishment are brought with kindness to the whole self. At the end of each class Sher reads a passage from a yoga wisdom book while your in savasana, which can lead to a deep state of relaxation and meditation.
Pilates with Simmy
This is the only Pilates class on the list which means it's a good one. A little different from yoga, this Pilates class is fast paced and uses many postures to work on your abs, legs and bum. Simmy is a warm and energetic teacher, she guides you softly through each move. Each move is adaptable to each individuals strength and fitness. The class is aimed to work on all muscles in the body so you become healthier and move flexible. This class is for everyone young and old alike.
Energy for Life is a private studio aimed at building your strength through fitness and yoga. The studio is big and spacious with lots of light beaming through the windows (you almost feel like your outside). The energy of the studio is very up-beat and vibrant, focusing on high impact physical fitness and awareness.

Emma is one of the founders of Energy for life so she is a strong believer and background in fitness training. Her classes are challenging, inspiring and transforming. Her aim is to help you push passed your boundaries so you can see change.
Kirsty Forrester
It's Yoga is a new space that used to be a empty plumbers merchant building for many years. The now renovated space is home to a spacious yoga shala with room for up to 20 people, a chill out area as well as a reception and eco shop featuring sustainable yoga wear and accessories, incense, snacks and more. Alongside providing teacher training courses, this space has it all.

Richard is one of the directors of It's Yoga so as you can imagine he is dedicated to his practice. His classes are focused on Yin yoga and hold a very Buddhist ideology. Focusing on breath, Richard guides you through the class with strong postures. This class will help you develop your spinal strength.
